How can I store tofu?

Tofu is a fresh product and must be stored in the fridge. Be sure to keep the expiry date in mind when purchasing unpackaged tofu. If you do not use the entire block, keep what's left in a container with fresh water and put this back into the fridge. Close the container tightly to prevent the tofu from absorbing other smells and flavours. When properly sealed, tofu can be kept for 3 to 5 days.

Refresh the water daily to keep the tofu at its best. How do you know whether the tofu is still edible? Smell it! It should smell fresh; if it smells slightly sour, don’t use it. If your tofu is nearing its expiration date, pan-fry, stir-fry or deep-fry it to extend its shelf life by a few days.
